Your plan, your files.
Curriculer charges nothing for now. Your tutor runs on your own AI plan, and your courses are yours to take with you.
What it costs
- You pay for your own Claude Pro or Max plan, at Anthropic's prices: see claude.com/pricing.
- Curriculer charges nothing for now. It never pays for, resells or counts your AI use.
- Study sessions count towards your plan's usage limits, like any other use of your plan. When you reach a limit, your tutor's turn says so, and when it resets, if that's known.
Where your courses live
- Your desk is your own space in the app. It runs on a home server: a small computer in the home of the one person who runs Curriculer. Only your desk can reach your course files, and other learners' desks can't see them.
- The person who runs the server could open your files. They won't, unless you ask them for help.
- What you and your tutor write, and the files your tutor reads, go to your AI provider (Anthropic, today), under your own account and its terms.
- For now, Cloudflare carries the traffic and asks for your email and a code before the app opens. That email is used only for this.
What's kept
- Your name as it is on your invite, and your passkeys' public keys. Your fingerprint or face never leaves your device.
- When you last signed in.
- Your course files, with their history.
- The files you add to a course, such as a PDF or a photo of your notes, up to 50 MB each. They're left out of the history, so removing one deletes it.
- Your conversations with your tutor, so a conversation carries on after your desk has slept.
- If you and a friend choose to be study partners, each of you sees the other's name and the days they studied this week, and nothing else: not your courses, your answers or your notes. Either of you can stop at any time, which deletes them.
- Each night, the files on your desk are backed up on the same server. Each backup is kept for 7 days, and leaves out your AI plan's login.
- The server's logs are technical. They hold no prompts, no course text and no sign-in codes. No ads, no analytics, no tracking.
Take it with you, or delete it
- "Download your courses" gives you a zip of your course files, with their history, and the files you added. The courses are plain Markdown, so any text editor can open them.
- "Delete my account" removes your account, your desk and your files at once. The copies in the backups are gone within 7 days.
- If the test ends, you'll be told first, so you can download your courses.
- The app's own page, "Privacy and terms", has the full version: why each thing is kept, your rights, and the terms. You accept it when you make your account.
