From a goal to a course you keep.

You say what you want to learn and give it your sources. Your tutor builds the course, teaches it a lesson at a time, and brings each review back when it's due.

  1. Start with a goal and your sources.

Say what you want to be able to do. Add your own notes, the book or course you're following as a PDF, or photos of its pages. Or just name the topics.

  2. Answer a question or two.

Your tutor asks where you're starting from, and what the course is for. It fills in the rest, marks what it assumed so you can change it, and shows you the plan before it builds. To skip ahead, choose "Just create the course".

  3. Get a course map.

Your tutor maps what depends on what, and orders the sections from the basics up to your goal. Each lesson has a worked example: one problem, solved step by step, with the reason for each step. Then you try a similar one alone. Ideas that are easy to confuse are never taught back to back, and one card asks you to tell them apart.

  4. Study with your tutor.

Each session picks up where you left off. Before a new section, your tutor reviews any weak or overdue section it builds on. When a question shows a gap, it teaches what's missing, and offers to add a short lesson for it. If you can already do a task, it goes straight to practice.

  5. Reviews come back when they're due.

Flashcards, exercises and quizzes are scored from 0 to 5. The score sets the next review: tomorrow if it didn't come back to you, and further out after each clean review, up to six months. To keep a rhythm, pick your study times and add them to Google or Apple Calendar. Plans of when and where to study help people follow through (Gollwitzer, 1999; Gollwitzer and Sheeran, 2006).
